My approach is very much a holistic one, meaning that I treat you as a ‘whole’ person and not just your symptoms . Long term recovery can only occur when you feel able to make changes that are realistic and sustainable over time.
You may be able to identify with some of these following areas, and perhaps more. Every person is unique with their own particular story. I will tailor my approach to treatment to suit your needs, and it may be that we spend more time in one area than another. It is very important to me that your journey is personalised at a pace that feels manageable to you.
So together we will consider current barriers to health such as present levels of anxiety, depression, perfectionism and obsessive compulsive disorder, low self worth and sense of 'self', body image concerns and body dysmorphia. I will teach you how to better recognise unhelpful habits and patterns and negative self beliefs that can underpin some of the struggles you have.
The pursuit of thinness can lead to a lower metabolism and an obsessive mindset, one that becomes hooked on finding happiness and contentment in weight, shape and appearance, leaving other options closed out. We will work together to help you restore balance in your life.
